Over 2,800 listed structures and more than 130 Scheduled Ancient Monuments are conserved by British Waterways.

There are over 800 designated conservation sites and more than 100 Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs) on our waterways.

If all our hedgerows were lined up end to end they would stretch from London to the Isle of Skye – that’s over 600 miles.
